Tom Trott is Founder and Principal Advisor of SB Insight, Inc., a business advisory firm based in San Diego, California that provides “Professional Insight for Small Business Success.”
Tom brings over 25 years of professional experience to the business community. His experience in sales, marketing, operations, strategic planning, business development and organizational leadership makes him a great asset to the small and medium-size businesses with which he works.
Tom holds a Business Administration degree in Management from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He has held senior executive positions with several Fortune 100 companies including Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson. Additionally, he founded and serves as CEO of Mad Science of San Diego, an educational services firm that he grew into the largest business of its kind in North America with over 80 staff members.
Tom has been accredited as an Executive Associate by the Institute for Independent Business, an international, not-for-profit research and training organization dedicated to improving performance of small businesses world-wide.
Over the past several years, Tom and his colleagues have helped dozens of companies improve their sales, profitability and cashflow by developing and implementing innovative strategic plans, marketing programs, and professional business systems.
As an expert in change management, Tom also provides valuable insight and coaching to new owners of recently acquired businesses. His hands-on help and guidance enables new owners to successfully handle the managerial challenges associated with a newly acquired business so that its full potential can be realized.
Tom conducts presentations on various management topics for organizations of all sizes. He has also shared his expertise as a guest on the Entrepreneur Magazine Radio Show in a segment entitled "How a Business Advisor Helps Your Business."
